But, Mom It Was On Sale!
I've had an interest in fashion and an obsession with following the latest trends in the industry ever since I can remember...thanks to a TJMaxx seven minutes away and a mom who loves to shop.
After coming to college, I quickly realized that my taste didn't exactly align with my spending budget, and therefore I either had to quit shopping or learn how to shop on a (very tight) budget. I chose the latter.
During quarantine with some extra time on my hands, I dug into this passion of mine even further and started listening to podcasts and reading books about the fashion industry. I also knew that there were probably people out there like me who enjoyed shopping without breaking the bank.
After months of considering creating an Instagram to share my finds with others (and trying to think of a name), I created "But, Mom It Was On Sale" in September!
Some highlights within the last year:
- gained over 1,800 followers on Instagram and over 100 on Liketoknow.it
- generated 30,000 impressions in the first month
- accumulated over 5,000 website clicks in 8 months
- average 25,000 impressions per month
- reach an average of 2,500 accounts per month
While I still consider this my passion project, this account has also allowed me to expand on many skills such as graphic design, social media management, social media analytics and pitching.
