Alabama Softball 2021

In the Athletic Communications office at UA, students are assigned to a particular sport(s) at the beginning of the year.

This year, I worked with Alabama's softball team (and a few volleyball matches on the side), and directly assisted the SID on variety of different tasks such as drafting press releases for rolltide.com, updating statistics and bios, researching records, editing media guides and, my personal favorite, managing Alabama softball's Twitter, Instagram and Facebook during all home games. 

 

During the 2021 season, interactions with Alabama Softball's socials increased by an average of 122% each month. 

  • Jan: 78,022 interactions

  • Feb: 377,772 interactions, 384% increase

  • March: 342,969 interactions, 9% decrease

  • April: 397,608 interactions, 16% increase

  • May: 785,517 interactions, 98% increase

 

Additionally, until June 2021 Alabama had the biggest following (FB + TW + IG) in college softball.

During the home games, I updated these graphics each inning with Adobe Photoshop and posted them to Alabama softball's social media accounts.
